24 Jan - Print Competition

OPEN PRINT COMPETITION 24th Jan 2012

The third competition of the season with an open theme saw 18 different club members enter a total of 53 Prints. The evening was well attended by club members and we were able to see a wide range of images and again the quality was superb.

The evening started with a quick run through the DPI versions and then each print was briefly introduced by Mil. These were then displayed for club members to view. This was a self judged evening with everybody present scoring each print.

Scores were added up by the Competition Secretaries after the coffee break, whilst the remainder of the club enjoyed looking at some of last years DIPIC images. Once the scores had been worked out (the aggregate score divided by the amount of scorers) and verified, Mike Williams announced the findings. There was a big range between scores for each picture. Some ‘judges’ even managed to award single figure scores which contributed to the average scores being…………average!!

For a full list of the scores please visit here.

The list of scores display the aggregate, the average and the highest marks awarded to prints. Also listed is the amount of 20, 19 and 18 marks awarded to those that received them. Some of the images will obviously be considered for the Frome Battle in mid March where we will need 15 prints and 15 DPIs to compete.

The two highest average image scores for the each member was entered into the consolidated score database which will highlight the Photographer of the Year winner at the end of the season. Pool positions have been updated and can be found here.

Our next internal competition is on  27th March which is Open Themed – DPI (Self Judged). Please start to search your image library or get out there, get snapping and keep those entries coming in.

Remember you have to be in it to win it!
