17 Jan - Ron Kelly - Answers to those unasked questions!!

Some words from Tuesday's demonstration.

Tuesday night, 17 January 2012 saw Ron Kelly a member of Warminster Camera Club talk in detail about a wide variety of topics, from depth of field, focal distances, lenses how to get a blurred background while shooting to the merits of using different ISO settings and how to use the aperture settings on the camera for more creative shots.

It was an excellent talk that provided those who attended with a basic understanding of how to be creative in picture-taking.

PS From Webmaster:

1.       Those who attended the evening will recall that there was a bit of a discussion around the definition of “hyperfocal distance”; Ron has kindly provided a couple which I’ve added below. Many thanks to other club members who provided alternate definitions, all of which were along the same lines.

Definition 1: The hyperfocal distance is the closest distance at which a lens can be focused while keeping objects at infinity acceptably sharp. When the lens is focused at this distance, all objects at distances from half of the hyperfocal distance out to infinity will be acceptably sharp.
Definition 2: The hyperfocal distance is the distance beyond which all objects are acceptably sharp, for a lens focused at infinity.

2.       Finally a big thanks to my providers of editorial material; Don (pictures) and Graham T (words). Without these contributions we would not be able to let others know what we have been up to. So may I take this opportunity to thank them on behalf of all club members.
