January 3rd brought the members back from their Christmas excesses to the first meeting of the New Year, held this time at the Organ Inn.  Moved upstairs to the Art Gallery and seated at the round table, this resembled a EU meeting on the fate of the Euro and similarly failed to reach a decision on anything.

Trevor brought along a new toy, a tablet, which seems to do most of the things a laptop can do. The resident cynic dared to suggest that using RAW doesn't produce more shadow detail than JPEG.  He was ordered to attend a remedial demonstration forthwith.

On one side of the table a discussion went on about lens resolution tests while on the opposite side some of the ex-military reminiscied about the Reeperbahn in Hamburg so this might be a good point at which to close this account.
