STOP PRESS for Club Members
- Kingswood Photographic Society - 18th May - Kingswood Photographic Society is absolutely delighted to welcome Mark Mumford FRPS for the first time as their speaker on Friday 18th May, giving his illustrated talk, Gorilla in a Yellow Field (Surrealism).
Mark says, "When you look at my surreal digitally manipulated photographic art you may think I’m a bit of a weirdo, I don’t see myself as one and when you get to meet me you’ll see I’m not. I do have a vivid imagination and with reasonable Photoshop and photographic skills I am able to create some rather interesting work.
Born in 1950 I am retired now and have been an Artist, a Graphic Designer and Photographer. I live in South Wales UK and I am now enjoying my retirement creating my surreal work and giving talks to camera clubs up and down the country. My talks are about my artistic background and my interest in surrealism along with my current surreal photographic art.
I have been described as a Master of my craft by those that know a thing or two about photography and art. I’ve also been described as “probably the best Digital Artist in Wales”. I don’t know about that but I do get a lot of praise from people that see my images."
Kingswood PS meet Fridays at 7.30pm for 7.45pm at St Barnabas Church Hall, Warmley, Bristol BS30 5JJ. Visitors are most welcome and the cost for this evening is £3.00.
- NEXT EVENT - 22 May 2012 - The first event on the summer programme. Members meet up and social at Bath Arms, Horningsham, BA12 7LY from 7:30pm
